Introduction
The Lagos State Infrastructure Maintenance and Regulatory Agency (LASIMRA) is a one-stop shop for the regulation of Utility Infrastructure within the geographical boundaries of Lagos State.
LASIMRA was set up by the Lagos State Law No 13 of July 2004. The law setting up the Agency was published in the official gazette No 23 volume 37 on 27th August 2004. The Agency was inaugurated on Wednesday November 16, 2005 by the past Governor of Lagos State, His Excellency, Asiwaju Ahmed Bola Tinubu.
The Agency has its Head Office at No 2, Yusuf Close, Off Hakeem Balogun Street, Agidingbi, Ikeja, Lagos. Under the administration of his Excellency, Governor Akinwunmi Ambode, LASIMRA has now been repositioned to be a service delivery agency other than an enforcement agency it was.
The Agency is the only organ of the Lagos State Government mandated to Regulate all types of Utility Infrastructure namely Communications, Electrical, Gas, and Water (over and under the ground).
